Techniques used in BodyTalk

When you attend a BodyTalk Session with your practitioner, they will use a variety of techniques in order to improve your body's internal communication system. These may include:

Breathwork ~ as commonly used in Yoga, Meditation and QiGong, consciously controls your breath to fully engage the mind, body and emotions during the therapeutic process. There is a saying in Yogic philosophy that if a person has perfect breath, they will have perfect Health. Breath also facilitates a scanning process of all body frequencies from lowest to highest, enabling the brain to highlight any areas of malfunction.

Neuromuscular Biofeedback ~ this BodyTalk technique stems from Applied Kinesiology and is frequently used in Energy Therapies. A BodyTalk practitioner may use this technique to gather information as to priorities to be highlighted during a session and imbalances occurring in your Body-Mind.

Tapping ~ tapping of the Head, the Heart and the Gut (or the 3 brains in the Body-Mind) is used throughout a BodyTalk session to facilitate the changes to be made - to store the memory of the changes and to integrate or digest the changes.

Cortices Technique ~ is a powerful technique to bring the left and right hemispheres of your brain back into balance. It's like hitting the "reset" button on your brain's computer. Some of the immediate benefits may include efficiency of brain function, thereby improving overall health as well as thinking ability, memory function, concentration, stress reduction and feelings of overall well-being.

Switching ~ one of the common side effects of stress is the tendency for the mind to go into "switching" mode, where the brain has such sensory overload that you literally "hit a wall" and find your Body-Mind extremely compromised. This can manifest in a person as confusion, inattentiveness, poor decision-making, poor coordination and mood swings. The switching technique can help the brain re-gain normal balance and strengthen the ability to deal with stress while also lowering the overall stress level.

Body Chemistry ~ this amazing technique is designed to stimulate the body's immune system to address any chronic or acute conditions that may be caused by external factors such as bacteria, viruses, toxins, fungi or allergies and intolerances. When the Body-Mind is out of balance it often cannot address intruders effectively, but by using this technique we can re-establish an optimally functioning immune system.

Hydration ~ the body is comprised of 70-80% water. All physiological processes in the cells, nerves, organs and body structures are dependent upon a good supply of hydration across the cell membrane. Frequently the transportation of water across the cell membrane is compromised, causing dehydration. This is not related to the amount of water you drink, but how efficiently your body takes up the water at a cellular level. This technique effectively addresses your body's ability to utilize the water in your system.

Reciprocals ~ the structure and integrity of our body is critical for living a healthy active lifestyle. Coordination of body energies & musculature help create a healthy, balanced Body-Mind. When this is compromised, it can have a serious effect on mobility, circulation, coordination and the ability to heal from injuries or trauma. This technique is designed to restore this integrity.
